Mercedes said the sensor rate A0025426618 was causing the problem, their cost £643 plus £300 LABOUR PLUS vat, was replaced with a known working one, with no change so I need to investigate further. Cost of secondhand spare approx £ 10 any further help from anyone....thanks Paul/

Hi all, so far no success, but maybe closer to the problem, readout showed the problem as B24/15, Rotary speed and lateral acceleration sensor now I need to find the Mercedes number . Thanks for the help.

Try raising the ride height, this forces the pump to work harder. does the pump clatter you need to open the bonnet to hear it, if there has been a leak you will hear the pump working overtime. If the pump is not working or the air has fully been lost from the system you will not be able to...

on EBAY there are a couple of people who service/repair Merc keys, had one of my S class keys W22o repaired and returned within 5 days cost £39.00 and this also included a new case I will try and find the info for this first class repair

Just to clarify w/s and c/s, w/s gearbox is the first of the w220 and MK2 2003 on the gearbox is c/s as mine which I have had for the last 8 years, there are other differences between the 2 gearboxes but nothing relevant to this problem.

What mode are you using, if C, comfort mode first gear is rarely selected. if S, sport mode first gear will always be selected, see car manual, this is standard on S class mercs. I very rarely use C mode unless on motorways, as S is more economical for me. Hope this helps find the problem.

I replaced mine about 5 years ago with one from ebay cost £15.00, there are dozens available, just make sure it is the same part number and you will have no problems, apply silicon grease around the connector

If it is the same configuration as the S class the alarm unit is actually behind one of the wings of the car, mine was behind the nearside one where they get water in the units over time, replaced mine with one from Ebay for £20, no further problems.
