    2006 A180 SAM unit(s)

I believe that some Mercedes models have more than one SAM unit. I have located one in this car in the passenger footwell. Does anyone know if this car has another one and if so, where is it?

    2006 W169 fuse box removal

Our A-Class has suffered some water ingress because the cabin filter drain was blocked. The vehicle is showing various fault messages for ABS/BAS/ESP. I believe that from evidence I have seen on this forum that the culprit may be a drowned SAM. The vehicle also exhibits fault information with...

    W169 ABS/BAS/ESP warning messages

I have a 2006 W169 which has suffered water ingress because of a blocked cabin filter drain. The car also suffers from a current drain problem and has done for some time. I believe that the ABS etc. problem could be caused by a faulty brake light switch (even if the brake lights work as they...

    2006 A180 draining battery

Strange things happening here. Went out to the car yesterday and the central locking didnt work. Flat battery, thought I. Opened the door manually and put key in ignition - nothing. Dead. Removed the battery and connected my fancy smart charger and....the battery would appear to be fully...

    2006 A180 draining battery

When you say original do you mean the one in the car now? Yes, that is a Bosch battery of the correct capacity. It was supplied and fitted by the AA. We do not know what it replaced but I cant see that this will make a difference would it?

    2006 A180 draining battery

Yes. That makes sense. I thought that figure was a little high too. I did leave both cars for a few minutes prior to testing. Might try again and leave it a bit longer. Any further information would be most appreciated. Thanks.

    E350 ABS/ESP light on

Wow. Lets hope that isnt the case.... Although it isnt a five minute job, I believe that checking out the ring should logically be next on the list though, eh?

    E350 ABS/ESP light on

Thank you for the prompt reply, sir... That was what I was thinking too. my iCarsoft shows no signal from the NSR sensor. But only that one. Just wondering how this would affect the sensitivity... But I guess I'll go ahead and strip the hub and take a look. I have heard some real horror...

    E350 ABS/ESP light on

My 2011 E350 estate has the common problem of either a wheel sensor or reluctor ring failure which results in the usual warning lights and messages. My iCarsoft box tells me that the culprit is the right hand rear wheel sensor. I have changed the sensor and it made no difference so next job...

    2006 A180 draining battery

My son has a 2006 A180 which had the battery replaced about 12 months ago. The battery is a proper Bosch item. However, from fully charged, if the car isnt run the battery loses its charge over a period of about four-five days. I realise that some electrical systems remain active when the car...

E350 rear air suspension trouble - not Airmatic

Yes, Even more a pain when there is snow on the ground and I cant get it in my garage.... This car has two level sensors, one for the right and one for the left. Earlier this year I was driving home from work when there was a bump and the level error message appeared. Only a mile from home...

E350 rear air suspension trouble - not Airmatic

Malcolm, Thanks for the info. So the pump is actually in the N/s wheel well on the E estate....I can hear the pump when it is running but without groping about in the snow I couldnt actually work out where it was. The one thing that I dont understand is why there is no error message on the...

E350 rear air suspension trouble - not Airmatic

Steve, Thanks for the reply. That is a bit of a worry; I assume that an affected air bag could completely fail at any time..... Your vehicle is an S class; obviously a saloon car and I suspect that the valve block that you describe will be located in a different place on my E350. Does anyone...

E350 rear air suspension trouble - not Airmatic

Hello everyone, I have a 2011 E350 estate which has recently developed an issue with the rear suspension. No message appears on the dashboard, but if the car is left overnight the rear suspension drops slightly. After two days it has dropped a little more. When the engine is started the car...
