I had 2 R107's in the early 2000's. One a 380SL 1982 and the other a 420SL 1989 (last year of production). Children's university fees etc etc meant that I sold both...... Damn and triple damn! The 420SL I sold for £19K it had 42,000 miles, full leather interior and all the extras. Probably worth...
The Wright brothers were credited with the first powered flight in 1906 just over sixty years later man landed on the moon. Amazing progress can be achieved if the need/will is there. This can also happen for EV and the infrastructure to support them. I'm no eco warrior but I hope we can sort...
This happened to me a few years ago. Mercedes said the bill could be upwards of £4K (replace high pressure pump etc). AA did a drain, flush and fill for approx £300. The AA man said he used to work for Mercedes and said the risk of damage after a mile or so was negligible. Mercedes tend to work...
As above. I've had two - a 1982 380SL and a 1989 420SL. The later 'face lift' variants are more desirable and arguably slightly better cars (there were mods to body work and suspension to name a couple) but all good examples have increased in price dramatically over the years - I wish I had kept...
On my 2011 S212 E class I had both rear air bags replaced earlier this year by my local indie (Ex Mercedes mechanic) I sourced and supplied him with two airbags fro Aerosus (Google them). They are supplied from Germany within 48 hours and have a 2 year warranty IIRC. My indie was very impressed...
I had my Indie fit Aerosus units to my W212 earlier this year. I purchased the units direct from Aerosus for approx £380 for the pair IIRC. They are a German based company and the units arrived within 48 hours. Fitting was about £300. The Indie commented on how good the units were and would have...
+1 for Aerosus parts. I had two new Aerosus bags fitted to my S212 a few weeks ago. These can be obtained direct from Aerosus for circa £320 pair using a discount code etc. I was quoted circa £850 pair from MB. My Indie was very impressed by the Aerosus quality to the point the he'd be happy to...
FWIW on my long gone SL's that did even less miles per year (circa 2,000) I still did an annual engine oil and filter change. So easy to do yourself and for the cost a no brainer.
