I just suction the reservoir fluid out with a tube and syringe , then do it again a few weeks later until your L of fluid is used up .

Does it need to be dark to work ?

I would use silicone or gt85 , WD40 isn’t really a lubricant

MB Newcastle have an eBay page , you can contact them about replacement hinge thingys . They will let you know price/availability or searching eBay may yield second hand ones . The fluid will be hydraulic fluid you will probably need to buy a Litre , there is a MB spec for it but I haven’t got...

The black plastic caps that sit on top of that broken hinge need to come off and get sprayed with lube .…regularly.

Also don’t buy adblue that has been sat in the sun or is an old date . Maybe don’t top up the adblue tank , but use it and then put fresh stuff in to maybe less than half the tank each time ?

Yes , fill by the brass nut . and yes those rear plastic brackets need replacing . Everything that moves need lubing . Especially the receiving bracket that is under the shiny metal oval flaps that sit on the rear deck .

If it’s cheap enough and you have the coolant to do , just replace it at the same time anyway , they don’t last forever .
