I own a C220 Cdi 2012 85k, Recently the coolant top up message appears around every 4 weeks or there abouts I top up the coolant maybe around 3/4 of a cup and all is ok for around the 4 week mark and it comes on again.
i haven't had chance to have a good look for leaks etc and there are no...
It sounds exactly like mine !!
As you have probably read i have replaced clutch etc. but it started again after only about 8k.
About 8 9 months ago i was really fed up with it so i got the car up to temp and put it in 4th gear and did a cpl of standing pull away starts riding the clutch, the...
MB Indy insisted it was the throttle pedal which was changed but alas it wasn't a cure.
A Sachs drive plate and cover was fitted along with a MB release brg which did cure it for 6 or 7 months maybe 6 or 7k but then judder returned.
Not being unreasonable but with this seemingly uncurable...
Hi
Gbox mount has been changed already,
Still judders garage that carried out clutch exchange have said nothing wrong with the car but i think there is. Looks like getting rid by far the most expensive car ive had and by far the worst.
Tbh i'm not sure although the garage owner is a friend and i did tell him not to use cheap and nasty parts.
I always turn stop start off.
Gearbox mount has been mentioned in prev post but why was there no judder when new clutch etc was fitted ? On occasion i can smell clutch / brakes when i get...
The original clutch juddered that was a MB part now i dont think being disappointed is unreasonable at not even 50 k let alone 9k on an after market part.
I really am after advice on the problem alrhough a little disappointed on the parts and build quality of my c class
Engine and gearbox mounts checked and all good.
As i do not tow there isnt really an issue with overheating due to load.
Quality aftermarket parts were fitted and a genuine MB release bearing (due to no aftermarket listed).
DMF was changed drive plate, cover and brg are all 9 months old approx...
Here we go again 9 months later and around 9000 miles and the clutch judder is returning. Admittedly not as bad as before YET but im sure it will get worse.
When a long distance has been covered and the engine is warm if you stop and pull away bingo theres the judder, also it can judder when...
Hi all,
I can now report all is ok and the problem has been solved.
One new clutch plate, cover, flywheel and release bearing replaced and all is as smooth as silk.
I was however disappointed in the after market clutch supplier listing an incorrect release bearing for my car and no-one listing...
Hi All,
Had the car checked out today by a very good independent garage I've used for years, all mounts and bushes/joints are sound the underside of the car is like new no evidence of oil leaks or previous work carried out, all in all a good like new condition he reported (I also checked the...

I have an annoying problem with my c220 CDi Estate the car is manual and a 2012 model with the amg alloy pack etc
