The solenoid sends a plastic rod from where the red arrow is. Once it was snipped off I don't have the problem anymore, just means the cap doesn't lock at all. Still closes so not a huge problem.
Not for my model, doesn't exist in mine. Had the boot carpet lining out and nothing there. Mine is a solenoid which shoot a small plastic bolt in and out.
Didn't mean to say you were all wrong, just the general opinion that there is a manual release, maybe on other models but not mine. Had the whole blooming lining out of the boot and nothing, so ended up at Mercedes.
Just like to thank everyone for their input to my dilemma, but you are all wrong and there is no pull cord or button or anything for that matter. Been to Mercedes and the solenoid has failed so require a new one. As Mercedes said about £30 for the part and £100 to fit approx.
I just find it hard...
Yes the solenoid shoot bolt has failed, and pressing the back of the flap doesn't open the flap. Will have a look in the morning for the plastic wire/string.
Nope, no pull lever, so running out of options. Looked in my owners manual and all it says is "consult an engineer". That would be great but my fuel is on the reserve so driving anywhere is a bit of a gamble. Any help appreciated.
went to put diesel in today and the fuel cap flap wont open. Tried several times with the remote but it just wont open, is their anyway you can open it manually?
I have had Mercedes me installed by Mercedes Benz and since I have had problems with my phone connection. It used to cut out previously, but now its every couple of seconds. Its driving me round the bend. Anyone else had this issue, or any other BT problems.
Got my car back from Mercedes after having a full respray, courtesy of Mercedes of course, and also decided to change the diffuser and put a twin exit exhaust on. I think it looks better than the original. I now it not to everyone's taste but hey, why not.
Anyone had a problem with changing their dust caps. I changed mine a while ago for metal ones and today my Tyre pressure monitor showed by back rear left tyre was low. So I went to inflate it and the cap had locked onto the valve and then the whole valve came out leaving my tyre totally flat...
I went on a trip and had my car booked into the Meet and Greet at Edinburgh Airport. All fine until I got back and had a scrape on the rear bumper which someone had tried to colour in with the wrong colour. They have disputed the damage and even their own photo's are as they say are...
