Hi
I have aquired a 300d with 18" Aero 2 wheels that I think are original AMG wheels They arent in bad shape but do need a proper polish/restore.

1/ Is there a way of telling if they are original?
2/ I think they are way too big for this car and if they are original I would like to swap them for a set of 'normal' wheels 16" (?) .. if anyones interested.
They have nearly new tyres all round and they are obviously on the car so someone would need to meet with me to swap.

(need any better pics then let me know)

I think I'd be on safe ground if I said 18" wheels were not standard on an E300 Diesel

Your options are many:

* 6.5 x 15 standard-fit wheels with 195/65 15s
* 7 x 15 standard-fit wheels (as fitted to Sportline cars) with 205/60 15s
* 8 x 16 wheels (as fitted to the E500) with 225/50 16s
* 17" wheels in various sizes (not standard fit)

I'd have a trawl around photo galleries to find the style you like then go shopping. There are plenty of threads on this forum about wheels & tyres to get information from
