1987 190D Engine Core Heater - Problems

I was wondering if anyone had any info on problems they have expereinced with Engine Core Heaters. Mine quit working and I was trying to find a reason why. I think It might just be burned out. But If anyone else has had expereince with this I will be open to tips. Thanks
