1993 E200 Auto Gearbox Sluggish When Pulling Away ( ATF Change ? )

I have searched the forum for info on my model E200 ( 1993 ) but could'nt find much so am praying for somebody to help me.

My 1993 E200 Auto has recently decided to play up in what looks like first gear only.

Sometimes, not always, when i try to drive from a stalled position the engine seems to roar while the car tries to drive forward, when the car moves forward enough to change up to second the car then drives completely fine.

I have read in other threads that i should change the ATF after around 60k, i reckon that has'nt happened in maybe twice that.

My questions are: ( how do i change the ATF )
where is the sump drain
how to i get access to the filter mentioned
which fluid do i use for this model
how much fluid do i use

Any help would be greatly appreciated.......

Sorry if i'm asking about something already answered, but i honestly could'nt anything relating to this model.

Hello and welcome, yes do change the box fluid, you can follow the post in the DIY section, it is near enough the same as yours, there is only one drain plug on your box and you can change the fluid in the torque converter through the hole in the bell fousing

Sump nut ( Tool ) ?

Do i need any specific tool to remove the Sump Nut, haven't looked under the car yet just thought i'd ask before i do save much hassle ?

Sorry but am a newbiew to this.

That's OK nothing special need, you will need the filter.

I have read the DIY section on ATF fluid replacement. Excellent. Do you know if there would be much difference in procedure in changing the ATF on the 2.6 V6 ?.... and where is the filler / diptick. (I have no ownwer's manual with the car).

Its the same box as in the 210, it s the same procedure, you can either buy a dip stick or make one, the dip stick tube is on the left towards the bulk head with a red or black cap, you just break the seal and replace it.

The details of the dipstick are also in the DIY

Be very very clean, no bits of dirt on your hands, no fluff on any rags/wipers.
One piece of grit in your transmission might cause it to play the fool forever.

Sorry but am a newbiew to this.
You don't ask questions then you cannot get help. so ask away. You will need a 5mm allen key for the drain plug and a 6mm socket to remove the undertray (if you still have one fitted). I would also advise that along with a new filter you purchase a new gasket for the pan (sump).

I thought about the gasket but I was not sure of the type, is it of the rubber type without sealing compound, As sealing compound would not be good near the box
