1998 C Class wiper replacement

My C250TD failed its MOT because of the wiper not parking properly. This happened just after the linkage itself seized and the AA man had vigorously exercised the wiper.

Because of this I really need to replace the whole wiper mechanism. I've removed it now and it would actually be quite easy to slot a replacement back in.

My question is, will a wiper mechanism from a pre-1997 C class fit? There are a fair few on EBay from C180s etc but I can't find any from post 97. I've compared my old mechanism with the EBay pictures and, as far as I can see, the only difference is the point at which the lead joins onto the motor.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

The Second pictured mechanism is for a pre-1997 car.
The First pictured mechanism doesn’t have its plug visible.
The one you want has a flat 4 wire plug. The one in the second picture has 5 wire plug so not suitable for your car.

Thank you very much. Yes, mine does have a 4-wire plug now I look.

I found a whole assembly for £59 and the guy promises me it's fine ...
