I don't know how you remove the vents but I doubt you'll need to, with the correct keys you should be able to remove the incumbent radio without much (if any fuss) - you might need to remove the trim around the outside first. I recommend you get some plastic trim tools as they don't leave marks like screwdrivers do. You can also use them to remove the plastic trim from the a-pillar. Just be careful not to wrap any wires around the airbag if there is on. I'd also disconnect the battery when taking the trim off. Very unlikely you'll activate the airbag but better safe than sorry...
