Hi Folks

Was sat in the rear of the missus c class yesterday.

Noticed when the car is cold a slight rumble from under me ( rear diff ?) when changing gear.

When car is warmed up, nothing

Worth changing diff oil ? Or suspect rubber bush on prop ?

Car on 160k with excellent history.

On another note gears feel like they are slipping when cold, when warm its fine. Gearbox fluid done 10k ago

Worth changing the conductor plate + fresh oil / filter ?

Would love to take it to steve at avantguard, but funds very tight at the moment, due to lack of work

Thanks

Can't comment on the technicalities ,but rear diff oil is about £30 in oil for my E320cdi and an easy job . I use Fuchs gear oil from Opie oils , who give 10% off for owners club members . My diff holds 1.3L of oil .

If you go on Opie oil website , they have a put number plate in to tell you what oil is recommended for different things , try that . I'm not knowledgeable enough to recommend the oils you suggested .
The oil I used was Fuchs Titan syntopoid FE 75/85 .
