W212 E350, and an SL350 for the weekend
Hi guys

Does anybody have any experience of the latesylt iteration of the denison gateway that provides bluetooth interface etc to the above?

I am keen to connect my phone for music!

Also - is it a diy job? I am pretty good with little projects but would baulk at it if too complicated

Thanks in advance!

You can connect your phone with the jack plug in the glovebox ?? Obviously depends on the phone having a headphone socket and the correct, but probably easily obtained cable

Hi Carnut

Alas this was removed in the mid2004 mini facelift when the radio system converted over to NTG1 (most based). As such - no aux in the glovebox.

Ironic that the earlier car is easier to make forward compatible !

Interesting- the one I was looking at was the 'Denison 500s bt'- any reason not to go for that one? They do a multi buy with the dab unit which is attractive....

maybe they are stupid, email and ask. the way I read their own website was if you want to add DAB you need the GW51MO2 and the DAB U units, maybe they're are confused?

on the unit you mention the deal is on the cheap single MOST unit, dual MOST allows you to keep more toys but a bit costs more,

or lose a cd multi changer and use

for the sake of 1 or 2 hundred quid long term you'll regret penny pinching

Hmmm hadn't noticed that it was a single rather than dual on the bundle - completely agree - wouldn't take that route.

Interestingly when I search by car both units appear to be compatible (ie the basic 500 and the 's bt' version.

As you suggest - perhaps am email to them.

I will check out the disco but am reluctant to lose the change if avoidable.

Thanks for the input though - much appreciated

they answered my email and return queries promptly when I emailed a few years back, but didn't explain why they didn't support w221 at the time.

most will know these days, on the 221 merc went down a path no one else chose, then bottled it and gave up. So the 2006 to 2009 S class' are not compatible with ANY aftermarket toys at all....

Blimey that's annoying!!!

Interestingly they do have some funny habits in others too. My other car is an early w212 with Comand and I had to resort to the hidden menu to enable the Bluetooth audio (which works basically fine!) Begs the question as to why they didn't simply enable it themselves!
