Dear all, the above car a number of weeks ago went into limp after one or two hard acceleration pulls, codes read by my indie and the MAF and blocked secondary cat were to blame. These have been changed for new parts and the pre cat, after the turbo was gutted.

Car accelerates very hard now (I suspect an overboast) but still goes into limp after 1 to 2 hard acceleration scenarios, EML displayed, fault codes read (Charge Pressure to High and Charge Pressure to Low) I suspect a poss sticking turbo actuator.

Now this is my question.... can the turbo waste gate actuator on this model be changed separately from the turbo or does the whole turbo unit with actuator need to be changed? I am sure I have read somewhere that each actuator is calibrated to the turbo its fitted to and you cant just purchase a new actuator and fit it to the turbo?

Apologies for the waffle, just wanted to give rough summary of history before asking my question.

Kind Regards

Matthew

Iirc you can't change the actuator as you say, I'd be inclined to investigate the codes a bit more, when I had my 270 just sometimes after a hard acceleration it would go into limp mode and store a charger pressure to high code, 2 indys told me I need to replace to turbo but I went to a third Indy (which was easier for me to get to with work) they took about 2 hours on STAR and decided it had to be an O2 sensor that was faulty, £20 for the part and £68 for their time and I never had a problem again.
That last Indy also became my trusted one and wouldn't use any others these days, well, actually, that said, I would if I was in close proximity to one of the indys/sponsers on here

Are they electronic actuators?

I have heard few successful stories, actuator box must be from similar car (or same hella part number) and I read a thread how to adjust it correct but couldn't find it right now...

Thanks all for your responses, that's the reason why I love this forum! so as I thought the electronic wastage actuator is at fault, so my indie has managed to find someone to overhaul the turbo and actuator components (someone he has used before with very good results)

Thanks All

Kind Regards
Matthew
