My 2007 CLS has an Audio 20 system, no Command, no aux-it socket.

I've seen aux-in adaptors on Ebay for £10 that apparently connect to the back of the unit but I haven't a clue where the cable would plug in. Is there an input socket on the back of the Audio 20 unit?

Second question, how do I remove the Audio 20 unit from my CLS?

At the moment I am using an FM transmitter to connect my phone to the car (to play music) but the quality is not great.

Any advice please?

Kenny, thank you, I didn't think to look on YouTube, that is a very useful vid.

Malcolm, any idea what I do next? Are you aware of where the Aux-In adaptor plugs in?

I want the aux-in socket to occasionally play music from my phone. A £300 outlay for a new headunit cannot be justified.

Just this isn't it??

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-...677494?hash=item210c2514b6:g:BC4AAOSwuYVWpRZM

looking at it there is probably only 1 socket o the rear of the stereo that will take the plug, probably the CD changer one to adapt it.

There are also Bluetooth ones

Seems a relatively straight forward thing to do, you just need to decide where to have the cable routed so it is easily accessible

That's right, that's the cable.

Do all Audio 20 units have a function to connect to a CD changer? I don't think I have a changer in the boot but to be honest I really don't know as it's not something that matters to me (although it does now!)

JBell I love you!

I've just checked the manual and had a look in my car. My headunit does have a CDC button but no changer (in place there is a cool hidden compartment).

So problem solved, buy cable, remove the headunit, install the plug and play music from my phone. Woo hoo!

Thank you for your advice.

Thank you again.

Easy tiger

No problem, you can route the cable anywhere you want, you could even get a USB adapter so you can put it all on a USB stick then never have to bother touching it

Help!

I've got the plug, I removed the existing plug from the back of the headunit, put the new plug in, but when I press the CDC button the display says No Disc and there's no sound.

What am I doing wrong?

I've also just noticed that the plug on Ebay does not suit a W219 CLS.

And to top everything off, I put a blank CD into the headunit (based on advice found on another thread) and the ****** thing won't come out now.

I assume my Audio 20 is different from yours, but I fitted an aux input to the glove of my R Class using a lead from MB (apparently for a Sprinter ) and to use it i press & hold the CDC button for a few seconds until the display reads 'aux input active'

I tried holding the CD and CDC buttons for a few seconds but that didn't work.

Fortunately I have a Bluetooth FM transmitter that actually works ok but ideally I would still like a wired connection.
