Continuing here so as not to hijack e63sonny's thread! (Sorry chap!)

Found this on a.n.other forum, whilst reading various sources, trying to determine if my car actually has the power hike and LSD:

Just dug out the brochure from when I bought mine [ 12 plate facelift estate].
No it doesn't is the short answer.
P/P consisted of:
30 hp power hike
Forged pistons, revised crank and con- rods
Intake manifold titanium grey
Carbon boot spoiler - saloon only
Calipers painted red
Alcantara wheel

Was £5200 for saloon and £4680 for estate
LSD was a £1745 option

Strongly suspect not... at least as far as the LSD is concerned!:(

Extra horses and having forged pistons is good but yup looks like no LSD, week at least we know the first mod now?

Does explain a degree of squirmage when exiting side roads... Even under light throttle use.

Having forged pistons is very nice though, means you can happily go for a wiestec stage 2 without much trouble.

I was adamant about those upgrades, especially having read Acid's thread on head bolts!

Just annoyed as I specifically asked about LSD when we were out on the test drive. Just trawled through all my emails with the guy... And sure enough, nothing in writing about it! :-(

I'll carry on here rather than spoiling that other thread. :D

So, I'm really sorry to be the bearer of the bad news earlier, it seems that up to 2010 all the PP cars were all fitted with LSD, but after that it became an option. Most sales people haven't a clue and, incorrectly, assume it's a given.

As I mentioned on the other thread, clear the back wheels from the deck and spin one round. The other should move in the same direction. If not, you need to have a word with Paul at Eurocharged, who has group buys for them.

Mine was from there, though fitted by MSL, total cost was under £1.5k, so not too bad for what it gives you...

Thanks Dave. Was just trawling back over Eurocharge's post from the start of the year.

Bit of a nuisance - hadn't banked on that outlay!

Oh well... A momentary lapse in my usual distrust of anybody in Sales! My fault, shouldve drilled deeper!

I don't think it does - mine has LSD and still squirms.

Even under v light throttle use John?

It's odd because I'd have sworn I felt the usual "scrubbing" I'd expect from a slippy diff when shunting around at low speeds... Unless I just convinced myself!

Have emailed sales bod to get him to double check and confirm yay or nay.

Will see if I can get the tail end up this weekend to check what's what.

I fear the next trip to the Mids may involve a short stay at the Acid Emporium!

No such thing as a "short stay" in that place.

Be prepared for the full tour of all the Weistec equipped motors just to tempt you into certain mods which are now part and parcel of the MSL experience.

If I do go ahead with it, i have a plan...

I'll pay for the diff upfront... And leave my wallet in the office!

Just received a reply from dealer chappy..... Now I'm even more hideously confused!

The Limited slip diff was part of the P30 performance pack plus which your car is fitted with. I can see no reason why you wouldn’t have a LSD fitted to your model.

You are correct the LSD was later an option on the P31 pack, however I checked the spec sheet and your car is fitted with a P30 performance pack. Unfortunately my spec sheet only denotes performance pack plus and does not list the items. Also I am told the casing is the same so it would be difficult to visually check it.

The parts department did check by trying to order oil for it and the oil type came back as limited slip, so I would imagine this means you do have it included.

Pretty much my reply to him Matt!

The VIN decode that Toby ran for me says Performance Pack, but this chap thinks it's the Plus!

Anybody got a coin I can flip???

Mentioned before perhaps, but if it's got an LSD there will be a diff oil change showing as done or due on the service schedule (though I can't remember at what mileage).
