I have just signed upto this forum. I own a 380 SL (1982) whick needs a lot of love & care. Being a mature student my finances are rather limited

Does anyone know of a reasonable Merc garage in the York area, please ...

still we all want some thing that we have'nt got
Though 14k for the SL makes Cheshire Benz seem expensive
or are the old uns realy so much better?

Hi, i've used Julians in Barwick before and so has a friend, he also sells spares. He certainly knows his stuff and you're not paying big overheads for plush premises.

I would also recommend Horsfall Autos at Marston Moor Business Park, near Tockwith on the B1224 York Road. Steve who is the proprieter doesn't specialise an any make but knows an incredible amount about motor cars. He can deal with older cars unlike some of the main dealers !

He is what I would call a proper motor engineer who will diagnose a fault and repair if apropriate rather then just bolt on another part. He welds and will soon give you an idea of what is needed. Charges very sensible prices also.
