Hi

I have a 1986 420 SL. Some background - it has a new battery, just replaced the ignition module (second hand unit but my chap assures should be ok). Fuel pump checked and renewed, immoboliser has been removed also.
After about an hour of driving, all the dash warning lights flash up for a second and the car loses power completely. However, once stopped, the car is able to start again very quickly. This has happened many times - always ok again to start, but exactly same problem. I am assuming it must be an electrical problem, but my guy is an ex-merc mechanic and can find nothing having done several checks all over. Any ideas out there please to stop it stalling like this?

Look forward to any suggestions...Thanks in advance...

The lights comming on show that the engine has stopped, the crankshaft sensor could be a good reason
