500 sl - A few questions ?

I am considering purchasing a 1985 500 sl and would like to know if any members know of anything that i should be specifically looking out for. The car i have looked at, looks as though it has air conditioning but could someone tell me what type of interior switch they have on this year for operating it.

Engines are solid and powerful and by far the most important aspect is bodywork- and not just the parts that you can see! You need a thorough check underneath, as proper repairs can be expensive. Good luck.
