Any ideas please

For some reason a liquid that smells like hydraulic fluid (deffinitely not water)is leaking from the top LH side of the windscreen even with the roof down. (with the roof up the fluid spreads onto the roof frame struts.) Not a lot, just enough to stain clothes! The top works normally. In the owner's manual I can
find nothing that tells me what this might be. And I can't see how to open
anything up to see where this liquid is coming from. Is there a small
self-contained hydraulic device somewhere on the top of the windscreen?

Regards to all MrToad

Have exposed the roof hydraulics and as you suggested one of them squirts fluid out when it is activated. I am having trouble locating an on line source for replacement cylinders have you any info please.

It's fairly straightforward to rebuild the cylinders.
There are a number of US guys who offer replacement exchange units.
Alternatively talk to an hydraulic specialist and see what they can do to refurbish it.
