I keep returning to the forum but one more question please for my 1991 129.

Can I assume the following:

That the kick down is electrically operated only.
That the "vacuum pipe" controls the gearchange
That the cable is in fact a "control pressure" cable and also controls the gearchange.

If I tinker or correctly adjust the cable will I affect the gearbox shifting for a better or worse change?

Especially for "Television", yes, I will be hanging on to my 129!

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi, and thanks for the reply.

My request for this information is that I get a clonk when it changes up into 4th gear. Strangely this was greatly reduced when a new cruise actuator was fitted. Coincidence, bad adjustment or too much slack in the diff? The prop is OK (Ithink) and there are no problems with the other gears.
