Hi,

I have an A class, its year 2000. It has a flip out keyfob, which started playing up. So I assumed it was the battery, it takes two CR2025's. I changed the battery & now it wont work at all, I even changed the batteries a second time to make sure I had good ones.
Can someone please help?

Is this a single button fob?
If so, the switches in those remotes buttons have a tendancy to break loose after a few years.
have a look at ANYWEB's button fix in the DIY section.

If not, the first thing to check is whether the IR at the end of the fob is lighting up. You can't see it with the naked eye, but you can check this by looking at it through a digital camera (a phone one will do).

Silly but worth checking - you did put the batteries in the right way around?

Hi
You have to synchronize it with the car close to the drivers door.

Hi all,

Thanks for the many tips. I will have a go tomorrow.
Its a double button key fob by the way. It has a separate close & open button.
Any ideas how I synchronise the key? Cant find the handbook.
Cheers.
