Hi fellow drivers

If you’re coming down to Cornwall on hols and use the A38 west of Plymouth over the Tamar Bridge, be really careful as it’s an awful road and a magnet for complete wingnuts!

Sadly in May there was a multiple fatal crash virtually every week in May, with 4 people killed and numerous others with severe injuries.

Many pundits are blaming the road which is awful with many 3 into 2 lanes but drivers are very poor too, and with all the cutbacks on policing, speed cameras do not record bad driving.

So be extra careful when using this road

The A30 is no better, complete mayhem on both roads lately.

Sadly too true Rob, is it just bad driving, lack of Police patrols, poor road design?

Ive used the A30 recently down to Truro and nothing untoward happened. It's now dual carriageway all the way albeit only 2 lane past the M5 but a vast improvement on the old scheme.

Living in Plymouth Mike you get to read and hear a lot more of the tragic accidents that occur on a regular basis on these two roads.
Just recently it seems to be a weekly occurrence, even my Mercedes was written off recently on the slip road off the A38 by some young girl ramming us up the behind without even slowing down.
It's lethal from Haldon Hill to Lands End.

Sorry to hear that Rob, hope you’re ok? Cars can be replaced. I actually live in SE Cornwall, about 20 miles along the A38 from Plymouth so get seriously held up at least once a month by awful crashes, but at least I do get home eventually

Drive defensively chaps, expect the worst from other motorists, and you usually won't be disappointed.
