It's more likely that the accumulator on the return could do with changing. Do they have the same wheels/tyre size fitted?

Could also need subframe bushes as they make ridges etc more jarring.

It does feel like part of the suspension has locked off, bit like when you have a leak and the valves shut down to protect the system. So the accumulators could be something to look at. Had this problem on the Bentley once but it road like a block of wood was used instead of a spring. The 55 runs 19" the 500 18"
Interesting enough the sub-frame bushes have been replaced on the 500, I think Welwyn Merx did this work on the car not that long ago, I'd have to check on the invoice?

Hello Philanders, I am about to fit Yellowspeed Coilovers to my CL500 too!

I am optimistic that it will both improve the vehicle, let it live longer and give me trouble free economic use for many years to come!

I enjoyed reading your report and hope you still have the car and enjoy driving it on the new structs.....

Cheers!

Just out of interest, why? ABC parts are now pretty economically available (thanks in no small part to this forum); what is wrong with yours? It gives a better ride than coilovers absolutely for sure.

The ABC repair bill was estimated at £4 - £5k parts and labour etc.

YSR coilovers £1040.00
single pump £120.00
control arms etc £345.00
Labour estimate £1,700.00
Total Cost £3,205.00

An exciting project to undertake......and hopefully remove the future fear of ABC breakdown!!

I will let you know how I get on and whether it really is worth it!

Cheers
