Aftermarket Xenon Bulbs - help! ML300

Thanks all for the response, never knew the reasons. Oddly enough, my Astra GTE 16v had them, not that they worked! and I always thought what could a spray of water do to clean the lenses?
Is the jet of water enough to clear dirt on modern cars?

Seems to work ok on my 210.

My 1983 MkI Astra GTE (c/w airfix kit in white), 1987 MkII 8v & 1990 MkII 16v, 1998 BMW Z3, 2005 W211 E270 and 2013 W221 all had headlight washers. All but the W211 were connected to having the lights on and a number of wiper/washer pulls (4th or 5th) to operate. The W211 & W221 had bi xenon headlights, the others ranged from candles to quite bright when putting 100W bulbs in them.

All did a super job of cleaning the headlights, like putting main beam on without operating the switch.

The W211 was a button on the dash. When overtaking soft tops with the roof down, or cyclists taking up the whole lane a quick squirt would be a fun thing to do Used to put the sidelights on on the Z3 when with others on cruises and squirt yer mates
