Air Flow meters

Daft question, I know the air MAF bodies are different from SLK to CLK etc etc, but is the actual sensor the same or is it different. I see on some sensors the numbers are different so I am assuming they are.

MAF is the name of the sensor for diesels and air mass sensor is for petrol powered cars.

The air mass for a 230K and a 320 V6 is different.

The air mass for a 240 is different to a 320 (V6)
