greetings,

I need to dig into the collective knowledge here..

W203 estate, picked it up guy told me before I did that the battery went flat, and when he started it again the airbag light was on.... the battery didn’t manage a 200 mike round trip, was dead when I got home, I’ve replaced that.... now, the front drivers seat electrics where not working, so bridged a wire to get them working ( I am very tall) on the diagnostics it said low ignition on airbag ignitor? Now the seat fuse keeps blowing.... and the srs light stays on.... anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks

Once the SRS comes on it needs to be reset so STAR/Carsoft.
Get the battery sorted first or you’ll be chasing your tail with errors.
The seat problem could be causing the CANBUS not to sleep so the battery goes flat.

BTW - W203 estate is S203 ;)

Battery is done, been on both star and the snap on system, shows the fault, clear it it comes straight back, the battery was dated 2003 so was the original one the car was supplied with would this fault be the seat pad that I read about?

I HAVE FIXED MY SRS ISSUE [driver airbag squib circuit high resistance] ON MY 2004 320 CDI W211
THIS IS HOW YOU FIX IT
MAKE SURE YOUR AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT IS WORKING!

IF THE SRS LIGHTS STILL ON
REPLACE THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG SLIP RING

AND IF THE SRS LIGHTS STILL ON REMOVE THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR!!
THEN RESET AND CLEAR PARAMETER MEMORY ERRORS WITH MERCEDES I980 ICARSOFT MULTI SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SCANNER OR

MB STAR DIAGNOSTIC TOOL

Then there is a wiring fault or an airbag fault with the drivers side airbag, or possibly the clock spring.

I had much the same kind of thing on my wife's CLK Convertible. The airbag light was on and the iCarsoft was telling me that squib 1 and 2 on the driver's airbag were faulty. We traced the issue back to the steering wheel angle sensor where the wiring for the airbag goes through the steering wheel sensor. I sourced a second hand sensor because they don't manufacture that part anymore and put it all back together. The steering angle reinitialised itself immediately and the airbag light went off after I cleared out the faults.

Low voltage always cause a myriad of faults.

Get the battery sorted first.
