Hi All,

I've managed to connect my iphone 6 plus via bluetooth to my audio 20 (non COMAND) unit in my car in my signature and this has been working well for some time. However I want to import contacts from my phonebook to the car and this is where I'm stuck.

I understand Apple has locked down the ability to simply send contacts over bluetooth and so I have downloaded all my contacts from iCloud to a .vcf file in anticipation of sending them over as business cards firstly from an old andoind handset (HTC Desire) which couldn't open the .vcf file to send them and secondly from my windows laptop via bluetooth....again no luck.

In terms of the latter I can detect the MB Bluetooth on the laptop and the car asks me if i want to authorise the connection and asks me to enter a passcode. I've entered 0000,1234,4444 and 62872 after googling it and still no luck. I get the message "Authorisation procedure unsuccessful" on the screen in the car.

Anyone have this issue before and can suggest alternative options I've not tried? Should I be trying to get the car to detect the laptop?

Update: tried with an android tablet and eventually got it to work. For anyone searching similar in the future the key is to obviously first pair the tablet to the car, then before attempting to share your vcf file you must first select ‘Receive business cards’ on the car and then share the file via Bluetooth. Not selecting the option first will cause the sharing attempt to be unsuccessful.

My car loaded 400 odd contacts in around 30-45 seconds so it’s very quick once it’s got going.

Enjoy.

How do you.select recieve business cards on your audio 20

"Tel" button on the unit takes you into the Tel menu and from there I used the scroll button near the centre console arm rest to select "Options" then "Rec business Cards" or something similar if I recall correctly. Your car, screen, stereo may be slightly different of course but mine was broadly in that order.
