After finally getting my toughbook to install carsoft and getting into the car to try and clear my EML and see why I keep getting ESP/braking warnings, I’ve finally got some codes to check out. However after finding a list of codes to see what they mean they have no resemblance to anything on the list on another forum. Are the carsoft codes different to the Merc ones? It appears so.

In other news I reset everything with codes and got rid of the EML, however after using the “live test” feature I found a wheel sensor to be reporting no movement. I’ll check that and clean it and see if it’s anything more sinister.

Of the first two the first one can be ignored.
The second is a wheel sensor I believe but will need to see which one

The next block the first is generic (starts with 3, 8 is misfire but not found what A5 is yet)
The next is invalid as it has an invalid character
P0124 is throttle position sensor
P3045 is faulty fuel pump.

Excellent.

It’s drivers side rear sensor registering no movement on the live test.

EML back on, going to have another look later or tomorrow.

There is no record of the spark plugs being done recently so I’ll get those replaced I think.

Where did you get the reference from? Is it in the carsoft readme?

Google {code} Mercedes.
Invariably points you in the right direction

Apologies for sounding like a moron, it’s just the fault code lists I’ve found makes no sense so far

...here we see difference why I always recommend ppl getting SDS system instead of any other coder reader. Even carsoft is highly ranked in forum, we see it still has restrictions which cause lot of extra work to dig real codes and their descriptions. Plus SDS comes usually with WIS, EPC and star finder. Paying ~200 extra (cost of one dealer fault code reading visit?) will give you all this. Of course it depends what is final target, and how much owner is DIY oriented in repairs, it does not matter if car is always repaired in indy or dealer anyway.

Agreed Star is so much better if you can justify the additional cost.

Agreed, that’s great and all, but this system cost me £70 whereas the star system would be £500 ish. And I’m specifically looking at carsoft fault codes, not discussing the merits of either system.

Aaaanyway, I got a more in depth analysis yesterday :) thanks to lostkiwi again for assistance on fault codes.

These errors still showing in the EGS. I’ve replaced the spark plugs, and reset the adaptations on both ME and EGS. I’ve not been out for a drive yet though
