After years of Range Rovers I finally decide I was getting too old for my heavy countryside pursuits and hitting 6mpg going down to ASDA for a week's shopping was madness so I bought a 2014 Hybrid E300 about this time last year.

Thank you. I only happened upon the place searching for wiring information and google took me to a sadly not relevant post here but it was UK and that struck me as useful. I'm trying to sort out my plug in power and if I could retro fix the 'power in glove box' and find somewhere in the interior lights box to leach off some switched 12V for the dash-cam all would be wonderful and tidy.

However my wiring information is as user hostile as Nostradamus so it's not going well.

Welcome. Its a simple job picking up power from the glove box. The hard bit is feeding the cable up onto the top of the dash.
But as AJD says there are knowledgeable on here who would know how to do it.
Suggest you put it on the electrical thread.
