So with the changes next year they’ll only be 2 sec a lap faster than last year.

I don’t see the point in giving the cars the ability to follow closely if they become 1 second slower. Some of the tracks require a near 2 sec delta to have the ability to overtake.

The idea it so remove the wash created by the front wings channeling air out of the side of the car so I take it all the upper front wing elements will be gone and we will see a single plane wing. the rear wing will be wider and deeper so there will be more DRS effect.

This should decrease the Delta "in theory" Ross Brawn knows what he is doing.

You know they will get that second back in no time at all

Is it only me that watched the Spanish GP and thought it tedious. Only livened up for a few minutes by Grojean taking out 2 cars by his foolish driving.

It always is as is Hungary, save Alonso going round the outside of Ocon, it is both the cars and the tracks

Pretty much summed it up for me too.

Going off F1.
Soon after F1 season begins, my lawn grows faster!
Are they connected in some way?

Used to have a C63...
Nope... I thought the same. Very dull, quite disappointing.

Well, the next GP won't be any better:D
The Monaco GP may be a great spectacle live, but it doesn't provide great racing, with hardly an overtaking spot on the circuit and the cars so equal.
The inevitable crashes will provide all the drama.
If he gets pole, I expect Riccardo to win. The Red Bulls go well there with their aero package.

Maybe he'll do a Button and tip Ricci upside down broadside in the tunnel.

From the FIA:

'Whilst the FIA accepts that teams will legitimately design the mirrors, housings and mountings to minimise any negative aerodynamic effects they may cause, we believe that any aerodynamic benefits should be incidental, or at least minimal. In order to ensure this is the case all mountings must:

'a) Provide a meaningful structural contribution to the mounting system. If you use more than one mounting you may be asked to satisfy us, by way of a physical test, to demonstrate this.

'b) Be mounted to the lower and/or inboard surface(s) of the mirror housing.

'As the criteria for determining the eligibility of a mounting are to some extent subjective, the FIA would be available to discuss the legality of a new design before you introduce it in a race, to avoid wasting resource, time or money. For the sake of clarity, the various provisions made in TD/014-18 still apply for halo-mounted mirrors. The FIA expect to have full compliance with the present technical directive by the next race.

'The FIA do acknowledge that the rules currently in force with regard to mirrors are not perfect, and will strive to propose a more complete set of rules in terms of mirror position, mountings, visibility, etc. in the near future, with the aim to get a unanimous support for such changes for 2019.'

Does anyone know if the French Grand Prix - Circuit Paul Ricard is any good? We're off there to watch.

It has a very, very long straight as I recall... and some good twisty bits. Could well be a good craic!

We're sat on one of the bronze stands, my mate has the tickets. Looking forward to it.
