Horner said that the three main contenders they will be looking at were RAI RIC and VER but may look at others too

I guess it will go down to who VET wants:rolleyes:

I think you will find it will be RAI for that job - just what we want!
Put Alonso in Rosberg's Mercedes (not an option, I know) and we would be all sorted to work out who is best - but it's Alonso.

I hope you're right Alex. VET is off to Ferrari at the end of 2015 if rumours are to be believed so it would be good to see RAI vs VET in the same car.

Lotus also interested in HUL according to the rumour-mill. Unfortunately all just rumours for now.

Love to see Kimi in that Red Bull, he would wipe the floor with Vettel.

Conversely I would like to see Seb in the Ferrari vs Alonso. Just to see how good he really is. We all know Lewis and Alonso are par after their year at McLaren.

Apart from 1 year in a Torro Rosso we dont know how good Vettel really is. A season or 2 with Kimi or Alonso would prove his mettle however.

Personally i dont think he has the balls to do it though.

Great result for HAM and his first victory with MB. All my four bets failed but happy to lose in this case. Good to see RAI tough it out with VET - plenty of other drivers would have capitulated.

Now the long wait until Spa...

Great race, great drive from Lewis and it was great to see Vettel stuck behind Button. As we have seen before when he is not at the front he sometimes stuggles to pass others.

Gosjean handed a 20 second time penalty but remains 6th as he was 23s ahead of Button, so what was the point of the penalty? Alonso was found to have used DRS illegally on 3 occasions and escapes punishment, Ferrari fined 15,000 euros.

...

Presumably because he is out of practice

With any luck, he'll be getting more used to it in future, especially if Kimi ends up as his team mate.

Nearly spilled my beer when VET says he would prefer RAI to ALO as team mate next year!
Really didn't expect him to be so candid, but apparently he does not respect ALO as a person, only as a driver - or at least this was the implication :D

I reckon it's all smoke and mirrors about Kimi joining them.
Whatever anyone says it's all speculation until the deal is done. I quite like the idea of Grosjean taking the seat.....he's fast enough!

You often get the impression that VET is unable to handle the intensity of combat when really required, he often damages his car or gets stuck for lap after lap and doesnt have the pounce of HAM or ALO when half a chance comes his way.

I would love to see VET come up against someone of equal calibre to see how good he really is?

We know HAM and ALO are well matched after 07. RAI has had the measure of all team mates with the exception of 08 when Massa beat him and no one has better racecraft than RAI when in wheel to wheel combat and who can forget the way he lugged around the 09 Ferrari that was miles off the pace.

I think VET would be scared of ALO coming in because we know how he can wrap a team around him to get what he wants whereas RAI will jump in anything, drive the wheels off it and cant be bothered with the whole politics thing, it just doesnt interest him. He's happy to rely on his raw talent.

If RAI does drive next to VET next year (I hope so), that will place proper pressure on VET. We know he's quicker than WEB and not a doormat either. Light fuse and run away!

I just can't see Alonso going to RB, much as I would love to see Vettel compete against an equal or better driver in the same car. I'm sure Helmut Marko will do his utmost to protect his precious protege from comparison against the likes of Alonso. I would love to see Kimi in an RB but my money is on Ricciardo getting the seat at the moment.

I think ALO is just rattling the cage to gee-up Ferrari, and TBH why not? Looks like he won't have a car which will win him title no.3 this year unless Ferrari find some more performance.

He's contracted until 2016 so it does no harm in shaking things about and see what might happen.

Alonso apparently has a 'non performance' clause in his contract that would allow him an early exit if the car isn't sufficiently competitive to provide him with the wins. I'm sure you're right that he is simply using this to give Ferrari a kick up the backside.

Given what Ferrari are paying him, compared to the salary Vettel is on, I can't see RB wanting to match it, or anything like it. Why would they? They know they have the best car and any young hotshot who is any good, would be queuing up to drive for them.
