Could someone please tell me how I can get a response from this club? I joined (paid!) on 29th November and so far have received nothing,do I get a welcome pack or anything? A car sticker even? I have sent two emails regarding this and another matter, neither of which have been replied to! I have been a member of several owners clubs in recent years,Club Triumph,Dolomite O.C,1600E O.C,
Volvo O.C and all have been very responsive and proactive so Im wondering what the problem is with this club? Oh yes, another thing, when I log on I get another members profile?! So far I am very unimpressed.

Sorry to hear that. I’m not a club member, only a poster. Mark S. is the forum owner.

    Any Mods who can help?

Not sure what’s going on with the login, who’s profile are you getting? The other items are down to the club - who have you been emailing?

Hi,Ive been emailing info@mercedesclub.org.uk and I have been getting Peter Thompsons profile #5470.Does anyone actually run this club? This is very frustrating,I actually wanted to know if the club could help me verify the age of my 1973 W115 200D for the DVLA.It was imported in 1986 when it was first registered in the UK.I want to apply for historic vehicle status and might need help confirming its age. Thanks.

Can MB not provide this information from the VIN number?
Is the information not available from the country of first registration (since DVLA will want registration date not manufacture date)?

Hi,yes Im sure I probably could get the info from a main dealer, maybe just a letter from them would but I know DVLA like to get confirmation from owners clubs.Mind you,it doesnt look like Im even going to get a membership number from this club!

If you want classic car support you might be better joining the official MB club, Badge arrived in a few days and tbf a decent magazine each month. It's really geared to classics from what I can see.
I went to a local meeting and I seemed to be an outcast in my car, asked to keep it out of main pictures as to big and would obscure smaller cars. Won't be renewing as my first meeting with the club wasn't welcoming, but it may suit what you want.

That's not good, I went to a meet in Leeds with cars from high end to oldies and all were made very welcome.

Slightly similar - joined for a year and won’t renew- excellent range of meets , not too much emphasis on ‘newer’ stuff and certainly not performance cars but the forums are woeful .... as CC, classic driven and focused which is fine

Yep not a great welcome, one by the Lancaster bomber is where they asked me to stay, then when most photos taken I was plonked on the end, tbf I can understand being on the end as it might obscure the lower cars, but was a token gesture and it was like being stuck in the corner for being a naughty kid.

Is the Lancaster bomber plonked out of sight behind the Vulcan?
