Auto box oil alternatives

Going to change the box oil, 97 C180 5speed Auto this is the electronic box with s/w settings. 722.6?? are there alternatives to the MB dealers which will save money. Fully synth ? I have access to hoist and can make a dip.

General rule as I understand it is only ever use MB fluid for this job. Hence i put proper MB stuff in the last time mine was done.
Someone may know differently though.

I used Febi fluid which meets MB236.12 when I did my change. The bottle is the exact same shape that the MB fluid comes in....

You will be fine using Fuchs or Febi fluid that meets MB236.10/12/14. I believe Comma even do a 5ltr of MVATF that supposedly meets 236.10 or 12.

I definitely wouldn't put any old stuff in there but as long as it meets the spec you should be alright.
eBay is worth keeping your eye on for ATF. Sometimes you can pick genuine fluid up at a discount.

The list silver star has put up is fine if they meet that spec, the same goes for engine oils
