Automatic transmission fluid tube cap removal

How does one get the little red/black locking tab out of the transmission fluid tube cap, please?

mine i just gave a twist small plastic part came off.still in use tho. think benz might have you put a new cap at service time.

As above , twist/break the tab , then with a small screwdriver push the broken remnants of the tab down through the cap and catch it below , this allows you to pull the black cap off , making sure you have the rubber o ring still on the cap .
You can order a new tab on eBay
