[b]380 sel [/b]clicking sound from engine

Hi all, can anyone help out a newby ?
I have a 380 sel which sometimes has a clicking sound coming from the engine it comes and goes whenever it wants too. there isnt anything loose anywhere and it seems to be coming fron inside the engine at the front. Anyone got any ideas ???

well im helping out my own post for other ppl to learn from.
got my motor back from a merc service and they reckon its the belts that need changing thats making a noise(noise sounds metallic)
hope this helps someone else.
