Essex is a long way to go considering in the end a mate of my dad's came to me to do it, charged £80 labour for the work, the part totals were about £147 after one of the filters were returned (2 purchased as not sure which it was, other returned for a refund).

£227 all in for a Major B service, not bad.

Hello,

I'm brand new having just joined, I currently have a 2014 C220 SE Executive Benz, which is due a B3 service, from what I can see looking around the price of this service varies from £250-£450 which seems enormous considering, as my understanding is, a "B" service is a minor service compared to an "A" service, if a B3 service costs £250-£450 I dread to think what a tier A service would cost.

I have had a quote from a local Benz dealer who wanted £475.00.

Is there a full list of parts that need to be replaced?

So far I believe it is as follows:

Fuel Filter
Air Filter
Cabin Filter
Oil change
Transmission fluid change?
Standard checks, brake pads/discs, fluid levels etc.

I got the car in September 2016 with about 33,000 miles on the clock, it now has 48,500 miles, I used to do a lot of driving in my last job, in one month alone I drove 1,500 miles.

Is this just a rough guide as to when it should be done, or would it be very detrimental to continue driving without a B3 service for say, perhaps another month or two as I am currently out of work and cannot afford to layout up to £450 unless it is absolutely necessary.

I had a "check brake pads" light come up about 3 months ago, drove it for a week and had a mate (mechanic) check it, who said he reckoned there was easily another 1,000 miles or so left, i'm wondering if this is the Assyst system giving an early "warning" so to speak.

Cabin filter, oil change and air filter I can get my mate to do rather cheaply labour wise, however i'm not experienced with cars, how much effort is required (in terms of time) to change a fuel filter, just so I can get a rough idea on labour cost.

Apologies if this has been posted in the wrong section.
Hi there, have a 4 year old CLS Shooting Brake, 31k miles.

B3 service warning has come up - had last service only a year ago for around £260

Not sure what this involves, but understand it is a major one - quote is an eye watering £1000 but been offered a service plan that covers this service and the next one, for £78p/month for 12 months...

It seems like a no-brainer to go for the plan to cover 2 services, if just this B3 costs £1000 on its own...am I missing something??

I think you need to ask MB exactly what a B3 service entails for your car, you don’t mention what engine the car has which also has a bearing on cost, otherwise you can’t estimate whether the service plan is value for money.

The service you had last year sounds like an A service (basically an oil change and inspection)

So it’s a 2 service 12 month deal ?? If service 1 is on day 1 of the 12 month deal is service 2 on the last day of the year ?

Look on ess whats needed or ask your dealer for a quote.

MB service plans are not what they were a few years ago.

A B includes replacing keyfob battery more checks and invoice seperately items.

Just put the details in here, provided it has all work uploaded to MB then it will tell you

Also - on a separate unrelated note, does anyone here use MercedesMe?
Some cars support this, but not all.
Owners of cars that support this are meant to deregister their cars when they sell them on, but most don't. You need to create a MercedesMe account on the Mercedes website in order to register your car. You'll then be told whether the car supports MercedesMe or is still registered to the previous owner.
To get a car reassigned to you, you will need to visit a Mercedes dealership with the car's V5 document, some ID (driving licence) and some ask for proof of address. They will then be able to reassign the car to you. My local dealership recently performed this for me free of charge.

That was a 2017 question!
