Babus box chip

Just collected my 2009 CLS 350 Grand Edition today checking through the paperwork and there was a fault a couple of years ago this turned out to be the Babus box and the chip was removed but no mention of a new one being fitted. question i have is could the car run without one? At the present time all seems well and the car drive very well.

Any help please put my mind at ease.

its designed to run without the brabus box. the brabus box just gave it a power increase, similar to remapping, but removable.

the car will be fine without it.
