Was wondering could anyone help with this problem, the BAS/ASR light stays on all the time whilst the car is running/driving but this is the only warnin light that is illuminated, what are the possible causes of this and could this be limiting the power of the car??

check your battery, if the battery is failing it wont give enough voltage to the ECU's hence the warning lights. Get down to kwik fit or somewhere and get them to check it, or if you have a multimeter do it yourself.

Though the ABS runs from the engine, a low voltage at the start can trigger the lamp on.

With the battery the voltage with headlamps on must be over 12 volt, once it drops to 11.75 this will put the BAS/ABS lamps on.

the running voltage on the car must be 13.8 volt
