BAS/ASR Light

Hello everyone Iam new to this forum and I hope that you can help me . I have a 1999 SLK 230 that has the BAS/ASR indicator lights lit. Today I also got fault code readings of P1714 and P0500. Where do I start to remedy these problems:? Thanks in advance for your help

do a search on bas/asr i think its just a brake light switch ??? only a few quid from merc and a half hour to fix

As ebony, brake light switch, we have had two the week with rpm sensors gone down! so could be one or the other!!

The brake light switch only cost £10 and easy to try
