BAS/ASR Light

Hello everyone Iam new to this forum and I hope that you can help me . I have a 1999 SLK 230 that has the BAS/ASR indicator lights lit:confused:. Today I also got fault code readings of P1714 and P0500. Where do I start to remedy these problems::confused:? Thanks in advance for your help

do a search on bas/asr i think its just a brake light switch ??? only a few quid from merc and a half hour to fix

As ebony, brake light switch, we have had two the week with rpm sensors gone down! so could be one or the other!!
