I've come across someone called 'Car Battery World' who do a battery for a 300TE 4-matic for £47 delivered. I tried a search for a 'normal' 300TE but it's not listed. Would this be the same battery?. Type 075 - cold cranking amps=580 - capacity=60ah. Comes with a three year warranty. Seems cheap - the best Halfrauds could do is £86. Has anyone used this company?.

It always hard with no name makes of battery, many house names never make it ti the end of the guarantee, take a Halfords Special and it fails, the man will come out with his little meter and tell you the battery is fine and it is the car at fault

nice 201 2.5D 1993 & very nice 129 SL500 1994
Bosch, Varta, Exide Yuasa etc.

60Ah sounds a bit small, the diesels have 75Ah but I'm told there is a 100Ah that will fit, a larger battery will see less stress during cranking, it will last longer, but of course cost more.

I now need a battery desperately as she was flat this morning. Could someone tell me if the 075 is indeed the correct battery for my car. They all seem to be 60 a/h in the 'budget range',but the book says 62 a/h. Cheapest I can find locally is £71.99 at ATS. I need to get this before they close tonight. Bloke at ATS seems to think an 075 didn't seem big enough for the Merc, but his system was telling him the same as the online one I was looking at. Immediate advice would be appreciated!!. Thanks.

Have just phoned my local factors (Autolec) and their listing says it should be an 09something or other. They have got it for £45 + vat and a three year warranty. I've just taken the old battery off,and that's an 063!!. Mr Autolec reckons that's just about big enough for a Mini!. So off to Autolec we go.
