Battery symbol appeared

Hi all,

Driving along today and the battery symbol comes on with see handbook message.
Im working at moment so won't have access to the book.
Anyone had this before?
Car is E250 14 plate 36k miles.

Generally indicates a battery charging fault.

When that happened to me in the Astra Estate we had at the time, it was a failed alternator. We were on the M25 en route from Gatwick to Liphook at the time, car kept going for a while then died, AA towed me to a garage top of the A3, installed a spare battery he had in the van then followed me home, next day local Vauxhall agent confirmed alternator failure and lightened my wallet by a couple of hundred quid for a replacement!
