I just have a finely tuned BS detector. It comes from years of being treated like a mushroom by the MoD (kept in the dark and fed sh!t) :D

I used to watch The Crystal Maze many years ago and remember a woman boasting about being a Mensa member with high IQ and stated some number representing her intelligence.
She walked around standing back as the others were sent in to do their challenges.
The impression was she was so clever, she didn't want to do it all for the others by telling them how to play the games.
Then it was her turn and she went in, head held high and a big grin on her face.
Quickly followed by the one of the worst efforts ever on the show.
Oh how I laughed.

It's better to keep quiet and impress people now and then rather than boast about IQ and set yourself up for a fall.
You'd think intelligent people would know that.

I’m dyslexic but I’ve still got a very high QI :)

Apparrently that is unusually common.
My sister discovered that when she through issues of that nature regarding my niece, with the Law Society.
I.e. could she get practice insurance.
Interesting point, would you want an exceptionally bright lawyer, but who might need a little longer to read some point of Law.
As a Barrister, it might matter, i.e. she/he may find a point of Law that say a less intelligent lawyer might not find, but would it disadvantage the person she represented; if by the time she had read some new evidence, the Court had moved on past that issue. Ergo too late to raise an Objection.
Interesting issue.

Exactly, first day at any job/client project I've had, always go in presentable but not overly smart, be friendly but none of that fake networking thing. Be interested but not overly/unreasonably so. Be quiet in first meetings of any project to actually gain the understanding rather than trying to make a name for yourself. Leave on time and certainly never do "face time". Then the time comes when you can actually help and youwill be better at it because you haven't wasted your effort on impressing people and let that get in the way of learning/analysing. I've had many jobs, casual, teaching, professional services and top end self employed client work and always taken that approach. I've remained friendly with each boss and each has told me they didn't think I'd be very good at first but now would welcome me back whenever I want.

Far better than what seems to be taught to everyone nowadays which is join a firm and work 16 hours a day and do everything you can to earn the respect from day one. Of course all that happens is you have set high expectations so then when you dare to reduce your hours to 10h a day after 3 years of slogging you're thought of as worse and lazier than all those who have never worked more than that from the start who have managed the expectations correctly.

PS. Sorry for going off topic, hope the paintwork gets sorted OP.

That I doubt!
He is also apparrently worth more than $10Bn.
He may well have $10Bn worth of asssets, ... but probably purchased with the best kind of cash ....i.e. “other peoples money”! :)

But then he certainly is streetwise .... look at his Las Vegas fiasco ... he ended up fine ... and everyone else lost their ass!

I quite liked many of his Presidential concepts, but he took a huge dive in my estimation, when his policies involved separating children ..... :(:(:(
thats a line you just cant cross, and imo he should never, never be allowed to recover from!
But hey its America ... so he probably will :(

I read that he would be worth more than he is now, if he had just put the money his father gave to him into the bank and did nothing.
If that is true he's not the business man most people think he is.

I know a guy who works for an exceedingly rich family. One of his roles was advising on Property development in Florida, luxury condos etc.
Hmmm he heard some interesting stuff, about some the not so successful Trump initiatives!
Lets say some of his co-investors didnt do too well.

And then there's the Trump university... And Trump Marina, Trump Taj Mahal and Trump Plaza casinos, Trump Entertainment Resorts, Trump Airlines, Trump Vodka... There's a very long list.

If it’s any consolation Peter I washed my car in rather too direct sunshine today and got some baked streaks for my trouble ( Gyeon bathe + is quite thick):(
I really should know better! Looks ok from a distance but I can see it ...a few washes later it should be back to normal

Sorry to hear that John but at least yours is well protected.

The repetative rinsing this end, seems to be breaking down the cement film and releasing the grit, which is excellent news.
Not so good news is, because the paint not super slippery, even rushing in this weather its hard to blow dry the car before some very fine limescale dust starts.
I need a water filter .... never ending lol.

I remember you got a good one,
Does it still work well?

And can one power wash the car with normal water and then give it a final rinse with “filtered water” to avoid the hard water effect?

( just thinking .. my Pro Karcher eats 650L per hour .... so one might go through filters pretty quickly).

Hi Peter
Yes the filter works quite well, it’s not perfect on a black car but in yours it would work.
I agree with you on the Karcher- best to use the filter on the final rinse only , I’ve just recently made up my mind just to use on the hose for that not through the PW- race glaze recommend the final rinse at low pressure, just enough to make a gentle wave if that makes sense. Also that only uses about 5-7 litres which is a bonus .
My detailing guy is doing both my cars Friday and will probably kick my ass for the 63 but I’m sure he’ll correct it

Thanks John
Yes I get the wave concept.
I had discounted these as they were pretty expensie when I discovered the leaf blower. When Collonited, I could blow her dry with maybe only five or six droplet marks ... but is it was “blown off” they were terribly thin, and one could wipe with a MF cloth lightly and they were gone.
I.e. not like a droplet that just dried off! Here that would be tough stuck on.

Bit of a dichotomy,
Either rinse off any grit new blown on by the wind every two days . And get very fine limescale dust the sort that would wipe or wash off easily, but may build up over the next two weeks.
Or let it build up over the next week and risk more cement dust getting wet and being a tough job.

Apparrently the builder has told my neighbour I will just have to move my car out of my driveway, as he needs to cut some fake wood cladding that is concrete!
So more cement dust.

So I am somewhat miffed.
****** cheek even if I moved the car onto the road ( driveway coukd hold 4 S Classes ... the dust they created before still reached the road.

Am I not entitled to use my own driveway!

I think I will check, if to comply with health and safety they should us dust control.

Christ all he has to do is hire a wet tile cutter ... no problems.
