I wonder if it's me or anybody else felt the same . I recently drove new C250 AMG Saloon and somehow could never fully fit my left foot into the footrest area. My foot is big but not ginormous ;) (Size 10.5 UK).

I remember driving C180 SE Estate in Germany earlier this year and never felt any footrest discomfort. Well, it's other side of the road so maybe foot rest design is a bit different . Or is it something to do with AMG trim?

It'll almost certainly be a LHD vs RHD thing... lots of pedal boxes are nicer/less offset on LHD than RHD due to the inner wheelarch intruding slightly into the footwell which affects a throttle pedal more than a footrest. Old Porsches and aircooled VWs are two that come to mind. The left foot rest on MBs is usually part of the kick panel trim on LHD examples i believe while on RHD it (used to at least) usually bolts into the footwell IIRC with some of the fasteners hidden by carpet on the trans tunnel?

Dunno if it's the angle, length or width that you don't get on with but i'd have thought it should be pretty easy to tweak. Most of the pics are of [strike] pedal covers[/strike] tasteless stick on tat google images, make your own and can change the angle, length or width and finish according taste; use some aluminium 5 bar treadplate if you want *cough* sporty looks or cover with some ribbed rubber mat if you have taste [/tongue in cheek]

thanks a lot, hotrodder. seems like LHD/RHD story then.

the length is the issue, just not enough space to fit foot completely on the footrest. i wear trainers most of the time and sole might add half of an inch or so.

i'll have a look if anything can be done to mod this, i.e. remove adjacent panel or something. i like the car a lot. there are minor things here and there (like steering wheel / seat misalignment or lower roof line due to roof window) - i can live with them, but short foot rest is plain uncomfortable, esp. during longer drive...

Footrest Size

I just test drove a RHA GLC and the left footrest was about half the width of my foot. It may well be a deal killer for me as I have had hire cars with this problem in the past and it can lead to excruciating discomfort on long drives. I found this forum and registered just to see if this is a commonly discussed problem with Mercs.

Loads of cars don't have the luxury of any footrest. You have all the driver's foot well to put your left foot on a long journey

I fitted one of these in my c class. They do match the factory pedals on the sport model
