BillyBoy, I notice that you said in a post some time ago - May last year - that your Comand reads out text messages via Bluetooth connection.

I've just bought a new mobile, a Samsung S3 Mini, which supports Message Access Profile, which ostensibly allows this text reading facility, but although I've connected via Bluetooth without problem and can use the standard receive and make phone calls, I cannot find the SMS function.

The handbook with the car - a 2010 E 350CDI - alludes to the fact that the phone must be connected via Convenience Telephony, but the online interactive manual says Bluetooth is ok. In the handbook 'SMS' is shown in the centre of the screen between 'Telephone' and 'Name (or something like that), but on my screen 'SMS' does not appear, which makes me think that for some reason the facility is not available to me - strange as you say yours is ok via Bluetooth.

Have I failed to make some connection, or setting on either Comand, or my phone? Did 'SMS' just appear on your screen with further ado, or did you have to set something?

I would be very grateful for your comments, and especially if you could point me in the right direction.

Many thanks.
