Mods, not sure if this belongs in Interiors or Electrics so please move as necessary.

So driving my 215 I've noticed that when the fan comes on, I get a bit of a musty pong. Almost exactly like something's got damp and gone rotten.

Where should I be looking? Heater box? If so where is please? Replace cabin air filter? Ditto...

Any help gratefully accepted!

Use an air con bomb spray , the smell is mould growing in the system .

Have had this in the past, and have had success with those sprays you leave in the car with the recirc on full for 15 minutes or so.

Was on a 210, that was horrific smelling when the AC was activated.

Ah thanks Alex, I can understand that. Fog the cabin up with some chemical, let the fan pump it through its own system, gotcha.

also worth drying the system out , get the car up to temp and then turn the system up to high heat, leave it running for a good 15 minutes on recirc, it should like I say dry it out and kill most of the bacteria as well, a bomb will then finish it off nicely
