Had a very nice chap in today. He'd replaced his battery in W164 ML, and had moved the seat fully forward and up. When he had fitted the battery his electric seats would no longer work. At least, that's what he told me..... After establishing pretty quickly that we were missing a positive supply under the seat, I progressed to looking for a blown fuse, with no success. Whilst looking at the rear fusebox for about the 20th time I mentioned they are prone to water ingress in that area and he suddenly happened to say "oh yes, I've just put a new rear SAM in because it was waterlogged". Ah Ha! As any fule kno, the rear SAM has coding for electric seats present or not present. Lo and behold, seven seconds of coding and the seats were fixed!! If only they gave you the full story from the outset...
