Firstly can anyone tell me exactly how to find what model/series my car is !!!
Secondly this Bluetooth adaptor that people talk of , does anyone have one ? How does it work in terms of the mic and speakers ? And is there a decent place to buy them second hand ? Looking on eBay I am someone reluctant to buy one off of someone that clearly states NO WARRANTY AND NO RETURNS !! Would rather buy off an existing MB owner that has upgraded

If you look at your VIN, (logbook, or top of dash, by passengers side against window base) you will see it begins W**XXXNNNNNNNN, your model is the W, and the first three numbers noted as XXX above.

for any BT adaptor to work you must already have the UHI socket in the centre console... if you don't have that then u can't get it integrated without going to 300 and upwards with fiscon or dension aftermarket stuff

A company called "command online" is a good one to ring for all things MB/phones and adapters

I suspect that is good news..... that's the cover to stop crude getting on the connections... it should slip off, you dont have that if its not fitted.

there are around 6 merc adpators,
SAP ones, but apple can't use it and android needs an app
The ones you see all day long on fleabay but you can't update firmware so ONLY the current model works with all the latest phones and go for silly money circa 250... you could try an 80 quid one it'll work they are reliable but not fully compatible with new phones.

or try a viseeo MB-3, MB-4 or MB4+ (they are all pretty much the same the 3 has extra features but I doubt you'll ever use... it rebroadcasts FM to allow bodge media streaming) they are all better than merc ones, but you can't buy them new anymore... but updating firmware needs the leads u get when u buy new and the files are hard to come by

NONE of this kit will give BT media streaming, only calls..... all will work with steering buttons and built in mike and speakers (and on screen if you have comand)

I think this is the latest part number for the merc ones

With the cap off you can fit one of a range of BT Adapters, but all s/h as they aren't made anymore.
eBay or occasionally on here

I just sold my old one for £100
Or
Upgrade to a new HU (Android)....

Does this forum have a selling part on it ?
