(3) were any of the knobs/switches unique to the i8 or had they all been pinched from other BMW models?

Regards
John
The interior pictures John has put up look similar to the i3 I've been driving so it looks like some sharing between the electric models. I'm planning on using it next week so I'll have a better look and might even take a picture or 3.

Likewise (if I haven't fallen asleep...) as not all are native English speakers

Thanks John - I’ll look forward to the next update.

Incidentally, on a short drive to the shops this afternoon, I saw an i8 and two i3s. Rarely see either and then, just like buses..... but the i8 really did look rather good ;)

A good idea John. I was beginning to think that I had missed your introduction of the new car.

My pal with a BMW 3 GTI had seen a blue one around Heswall and I guessed it might have been you.
I did say to him that I would like to hear;
(1)how he can get out of the car once he has parked it the garage ?
(2) what did he think of the (surprising to me) 3 cylinder 1.5 Mini engined combustion power plant ? and
(3) were any of the knobs/switches unique to the i8 or had they all been pinched from other BMW models?

With your new and updating blog, I am about to find out the answers.

Is BMW Liverpool not closer to you than Chester?
VW had similar problems to thos you are experiencing when trying to fix the rare Phaeton`s
I hope that BMW servicing improves so that you can continue to enjoy what is an undoubted eye turner.
Regards
John
I may as well answer these now though John ..

(1) mine is not garaged, the doors would be a problem unless your garage is really wide for sure!
(2) that little power plant is surprisingly flexible and potent, especially combined with the electric motor
(3) the switchgear is identical to all of the modern BMWs including the i3 and indeed it’s the same as the 530d loaner I have. The steering wheel is unique I think.

BMW Liverpool and BMW Chester are equidistant for me John, however I now wish I had chosen there! Also it’s name is better, no relation though I guess?

I have seen an i3 but still not one other i8 which is really weird!
Usually at the point I even order a car I see that model almost constantly!

The more determined golfers among us will slip the bag in through the passenger door, into the footwell and recline it carefully onto the passenger seat. My brother actually fits his pencil bag behind the seats of his Ferrari 458. Where there's a will...

Nice, John really nice!! :D:D
Are you looking sideways into the camera when you say that? As that’s how I’m picturing it being said :D

However since it’s you....
Won’t be doing this too often!
That’s in the boot...
The bonnet is worse, released either side A pillar then needs 2 people to lift up....
These cars are not designed for home maintenance easily...
