To add to my troubles i have had a flat tyre! When ive called etyres to come and replace the tyre with a new one they have told me both my front tyres are totally bold around the edge and damaged around the edge. All the rubber has been sitting inside them from the driving after the damage which must be since last saturday and only ive driven the car local. The film of black coating that was done on the alloys as a smart repair has peeled off when they replaced the tyre on the alloy. This is a nitemare. Should i be going through the legal route? As i just seem to be going back and forth with emails with them...

As said previously, your point of contact here is Sytner, not the repair garage (as your first post). You are doing Sytner’s job for them - the garage are instructed by them.
Direct your communication to Sytner, not the garage.
Demand a suitable solution to resolve the initial claim and subsequent damage that has occurred, indicate that you are not satisfied by Sytner’s inactivity and will if need be seek legal action to resolve matters. Outline all the events in date order and include the current status you describe in your last post.

Do you have a facebook or twitter account that seems to stir the nest up these days ?
Until someone with the authority to do the right thing gets hold of your case it will languish with "the computer says no" level staff.
Have you followed their complaints procedure;

Thank for your advice. The bodyshop have agreed to replace the front 2 alloys with new ones but are also saying they will not give any warranty on them. Is this correct? Or should they be giving warranty also.

If they're new, they should come with manufacturer's standard warranty. Can't see why they wouldn't.

Probably bought trade and would be classed as betterment so no warranty given, pretty standard practice I would have thought

Good news!, good that your perseverance has got things moving.
As above, the rims will have manufacturers warranty.
I should think the garage are now nervous of any litigation against them and are trying to distance themselves from the damage.
Be assured, however, any further damage / poor workmanship cannot be wriggled out of by such (no warranty) statements - the law is on your side in this respect.
Have Sytner made any response direct to you yet?
You need to understand what is happening.
Hope Sytner have finally stepped up to the mark!

They should last a reasonable length of time commensurate at least with the ones they have had to replace due to their negligence.
What arrogance to think they can do anything else.
Are they really trying to have you believe if they collapsed next week due to manufacturing defects they could wash their hands of the matter.

Any warranty issues with the wheels or any other work on this claim, would be with Sytner - the garage are acting as Sytner’s agents in this situation. It surprises me Sytner have been so apathetic!?

Hi
Thank you for all your responses. This is what i was really questioning that is it even realistic to have no warranty...
Originally my alloys were modified by mercedes where i bought the car from brand new. Alloys were all black. Now the ones they have got me have a silver edging and they are telling me mercedes does not do all black multi spoke alloys... i obviously can not drive around with 2 different alloys. So ive asked them to modify them so they are in the original form of how i gave the car to them. They even asked me if i could go back and ask my original dealership to modify them for me which i told them clearly NO. I totally understand if i was to cause cosmetic damage to them then it will be down to myself to repair but like you have mentioned if the alloys had manufacturers damage or the garage caused damage then i should be covered. I still think even after all this time they are still trying to “fob me off” Oh and yes systner did give me a call straight after they recieved my email and apologized that i felt they were ignoring the situation and really just sitting back on it and letting me deal with what they should be doing. Which is still not good enough from there side. I will be sending another email to the bodyshop tomorow outlining the warranty issue with them.
I will keep you all updated

At the risk of complicating matters still further, the garage are proposing modifying new rims and will not guarantee this modification.
Put this issue to Sytner immediately, point out that if the garage are not suitably competent to complete this work you will be coming to them for restitution.
Wheel refurb companies will offer a basic warranty on the work they complete and Sytner need to ensure that the appropriate restoration work, with warranty is undertaken.
I suggest you ask Sytner to hold off any work to the rims until a suitable provider is identified and a warranty provided.
Sytner should be managing this!!!

Call up Sytner parts dept and ask for a price for 4 new rims as per the ones supplied with the car. Get that emailed to them. Then call their customer services and tell them that you require either the value of the quote in cash, or 4 new rims provided FOC as per the quote. They can then do what they want with your old rims as you are unhappy or unwilling to proceed further given their handling of the case.

You cannot claim for a full set of rims if only two were damaged, You can only have the 2 damaged rims repaired or replaced. ( NO matter what anyone tells you on here. You could also ask for a new car as well and see how that goes with the legal guys lol) There would be no warranty with them as your old rims didn't have a warranty and you didn't buy the new rims. Whoever bought them would have a warranty with them , but they have chosen not to use it and you cannot force them to.
As for the silver band on the new rims, this is very easy to repaint black to match your existing rims, ( A good well run paint shop or garage would have noticed this and done it before you got the wheels..)and you should let them repaint the rims.. well repaint the outer edges, if you aren't happy with them doing it, go get a wheel specialist to quote you for repainting the edge black, and see how that works out money wise, if not too expensive ask MB if they will pay for it.
